InactiveI have a three year old LG Smart TV and a one year old Humax FYP 5000.
I am trying to set it up so I can have Humax and Live TV connected at the same time.
I was advised you can do this with loop through. This means nothing to me but I understand this is done by connecting HDM1 cable from tv to the R out socket on
the Humax box. But the HDM1 cable does not fit the R out socket.
Can anyone help me. Please be kind I am useless at technology
Thanks
Steve

Nothing to do with the HDMI connections. When you connect an aerial to the 5000T it feeds the Freeview tuners in the box. The rf out socket passes that on to the the Freeview tuner in the TV. You should have had a cable provided to make this connection.
You will need to make a setting change on the box. In settings turn off power saving in sby.

InactiveYour set up will need to be this.
Roof aerial into “rf in” on the Humax.
Aerial patch lead from Humax “rf out” into the TV.
Hdmi lead from Humax to the TV.
Then “settings” OK
“System settings” OK
“Power management” OK
“Power saving mode” OK
Change this to “Off” OK
Then return out of the settings.

InactiveI only have a HDML cable. I sent email to Humax who stated cable would have been
in box. The contents page of manual only shows HDML Cable enclosed.
Can I buy a cable just to quickly resolve this issue. Any idea what I need and where I can buy it. Not shown as an accessory on Humax site
Why are Humax so unhelpful??
thanks
Steve

InactiveYes, the lead is widely available :-
https://www.screwfix.com/p/fly-lead-coaxial-plug-to-plug-1m/41720
But similar are sold by Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M and many other places.
Chances are that you will already have one in a drawer somewhere, they aren’t Humax specific. If you don’t, I guarantee that you know someone who does.

InactiveI suspect that Humax are not so much being unhelpful, rather just being ignorant.
I notice that most (if not all) Belling Lee style extension cables being advertised seem to be M-M with an F-F adapter. Have they stopped making M-F cables?

InactiveI doubt very much that they have stopped but it makes far more sense to sell m/m with an adapter because it will cover 99.99% of scenarios.
