My FVP 5000T has over 500 recordings. The only option for sorting them seems to be ascending Alphabetic or Most Recent. I know that there are duplicates in there but it’s not easy to find them and it seems to re-record things at will. The only way to access the files seems to be by Page Up and Page Down and is very laborious.

I have FTP access to the drive but this is Read Only so I am not able to delete anything although I can scroll through the files. Nor can I create any folders to organise things a bit.

Any ideas on how I can improve this situation?

    You can’t.

The only other options are to sort by day-of-the-week or channel, neither of which are very helpful. A badly designed user interface?

More than thanks, EEPhil. Your suggestions for day and channel sorts made me think that these can be really useful for just finding programmes that are buried deep at random – well almost certainly more use than the date and alpha sorting.

I had been thinking that an option to find programmes randomly would be useful – but this is nearly as good.

We spent an hour-plus this afternoon and deleted 250 of the 550 programmes that we had already recorded. Ha ha! – Tony

Yikes! I thought the 350 recording I had were unmanageable, but 550!
