Hi I have had the FVP4000T for approximately 2 months now and I am still getting used to it, I came from the FOX Sat HDR. I used to be able to jump to a place in the recording just by typing in the time. Am I missing anything?

No, Humax has done away with that feature – it’s called progress. 😳

Thanks for you reply, pity though, as when I record the Touring car it is on for almost 6 hours of which I watch about 1 hour, looks like I will wear the buttons out on the remote..
Welcome to our Forum
Max skip forward is 240 secs, but you can press and hold the skip button to fast advance through a recording.
If you press OK to show the time bar, and instead of doing a single press of the Right arrow (advert skip), you press and hold the right arrow (or left to go back) the time bar scrolls rapidly release the arrow when at the time you want.
Hope the helps – I must admit I also miss a few features that my old PVR9200T had:
Bookmarking – My children set the bookmarks for the Touring cars so that I could watch the races I was interested in.
The single line keybopard for the search is an absolute pain!
Lots of single button short-cuts have been taken away:
The recorded programs was a single button now only through the menu!
the schedule was a single button from the guide now only through the menu! AND that was one of the colour buttons that are still on the new remote – so WHY?
In short Humax have spoiled the interface on the box.
Thanks for all of your help with this one, I agree that Humax are slowly degrading the operator interface and had I of know it would be so limited I probably would have gone for one of the Panasonic’s. Worst of all I have to record HD and SD else I can’t stream and SD feed is rubbish on a big screen ( this is SD generally and not a criticism of the Humax.). If Humax were to release an advanced remote with more buttons and bring back some of the features I would happily pay for one.

Don’t get too in love with the thought of a Panasonic either. I own one as well as the Humax and if anything the UI is even more basic and clunky. However, having said all that the Panasonic is very stable and both the client and server DLNA features work a treat. I can’t say the say re: DLNA on the Humax. Just my two-penneth
