    Hi guys,

    Just been given a Humax PVR-8000T. However the former owner had lost the remote and bought a replacement (RM 3040A) but had never managed to make the remote work. Needless to say nor can I.

    My only issue is that I need to set up the channels and when I try to do that it wants the password but with no working remote I cannot do that. Anyone have any suggestions? I am loathe to buy a new remote without knowing the box actually works properly. I know I have posted in the wrong place but if you can move it to the right one I will be eternally grateful.

    Assuming the previous owner did not change the PIN, all Humax boxes starting with the 8000T (The first Humax UK Freeview PVR), used 0000 (four zeros) as the default pin. Don’t any of the cheap universal remotes have codes for a 8000T ?
