my FVP-5000T has suffered a head crash after 8 years of perfect service. Time to buy a new box – from Humax. But how can I give my wife back her lost recordings?
And what box is most reliable?

For the reference of others here, what did it turn out to be?
Humax was nearly full. Auto Maintenance compensates for bad sectors. Full status frustrates this. Delete stuff and wait for Humax to fix itself. All good. I could also have put new disk in. Would loose schedule and recordings.
Wife happy. Me happy.
Well done. Sounds like some serious pruning of recordings, particularly ones you have watched. is needed.
