When I press volume up in the remote and release the button it carries on increasing to maximum. Same with other buttons. None of the button feel sticky.
I changed the remote batteries and power cycled the box. I held down 0 and 30 together for 30s with the batteries removed. Can’t reset the box because the remote doesn’t control it!

If you crack open the case on the remote you will probably find the pads just need cleaning. In the past, i have repaired many a remote by just cleaning the pads. It used to be the channel 1 -4 buttons, the volume and the standby buttons as these were the most used.
