I always used to search for “New” programmes on a Saturday morning, looking for new stuff to watch for the rest of the week.

It started hiccupping a few weeks ago, but it no longer works at all.

I did some research online and the Search facility is no longer available, also gone is the Freesat “Showcase” another feature I regularly used.

I wonder what will go next? Catchup services maybe?

It won’t be long before they disable recording :(

I have the same issue with my free sat box. iPlayer will not load from the on demand menu.

    I have discovered a workaround.

The green and red buttons can still be used to enter the iPlayer when watching a BBC program.

Given the age of the 1100s and that it uses an older technology and comparatively few of them left. It’s likely they are nearing the end of their life.

Plus the satellites themselves are due to be decommissioned beginning in 2028/2029 and neither Sky or Freesat or BBC have yet committed to the replacements. So it’s likely the service will be reduced then to main channels with everything else delivered via streaming.

Sadly the end of the road.
