    Optical cable goes straight from Humax box to AMP and don’t get any sound. If I unplug it from the Humax, you can see the little red light shining out, and if I try the same cable from DVD player (to AMP), it works fine. I’ve tried changing the audio from multi-channel to stereo to see if that did anything but no dice. Pretty sure I’ve had it working before but not 100% sure. Will probably try a reboot soon as its not recording anything, but is there something else I’m missing?.

    Are you sure you are selecting the right input on the amp ? Have you tried both a SD and HD channel before you changed to stereo ?

    Does the amp offer Dolby Digital decoding or is it just a Stereo only design that supports lpcm and mp2/mp3 compression codecs ?

    Turned out to be a dodgy fitting optical cable, even though it worked ok with the dvd player. Someone brought another around which works fine.
