I have ended up recording a couple of long programs which I watched on someone else’s TV. I therefore don’t need to watch the recordings again. Is there any way to mark these recordings as watched, so that they will be over-written in due course.

Delete them?
It was a case of RTFM (properly this time). I did not realise you had to press the OK key to enter the additional menu, with the delete option. Having been a Sky+HD user for a number of years, I am having to unlearn the way that that works. Thanks for the tip.
