ParticipantToday I have lost audio output from my HDR-1000S HDMI port. Other than this box is working just fine.
toslink audio is working and I guess the analogue RCA phonos as well. Changing the audio output between PCM and Dolby Digital has no effect.
Recordings continue to be made (after restoring lost schedules), but of course they can’t be heard other than using my toslink connected headphones.
Power Cycle and factory reset failed to fix.
I do wonder if this is a similar issue to the HDR-2000T HDMI audio problem and down to an obscure firmware bug.
I have e-mailed the company mentioned before who specialise in repairing the loss of access to the HDD, detailing the fault and have asked if they can repair.
I will post what happens. In the meantime relying on my FVP-5000T to continue normal service.
By a concidence I am today expecting a replacement to my Yamaha AV receiver with a 4K capable model (Denon AVR-X7200WA).
When this arrives, assuming the analogue outputs still work, I will have a workaround by assigning the analogue audio input to the HDMI port the HDR-1000S is connected to. Even this high end receiver lacks toslink inputs. However the system I use to view on a remote TV requires HDMI with audio.
Any suggestions anyone ?

The company e-mailed me back. However after the box being in sby all day, booting this afternoon the the audio is back 😯

The company did e-mail me asking me to try a new HDMI cable. On booting the audio is back, go figure, nothing has changed. 8O.
