I thought the original Ver1.0 1000S was immune from this….
Symptoms:
Flaky operation (file format not supported) followed by no operation (can’t pause live TV etc).
Tried:
Replacing HDD with numerous spares (all “in stock” here at home). Says it’s formatting – but on inspection after powering off, there is nothing done to the HDD.
Leave it switched off for a while. This causes it to come back to life. For a bit – after which back to square one.
Bin job? I bought it in Jan 13, so it hasn’t done too badly…
I suggest you delete all partitions before you insert into the PVR. I would not expect it to expect an internal non linux partition. Try the original low power disk first.
Tried all those combos (well, completely partition free and “as formatted and working by the Humax”).
Box is dead, sadly.
Bad luck, off to recycling then.
