I have 2 HDR boxes; one older than the other but they both exhibit a problem when connected via hdmi cables to a Sony tv. No such problem with the AV connection.

I have a new smart thomson tv and the sound problem is worse and thus TV only has hdmi connections. There is no problem with over air satellite tv (integrated tuner).

I note several forum entries reporting similar problems with very weak responses. So I would be happy to return a box for investigation.

The ‘spare’ box is the newest and the on demand function works but it doesn’t record to the internal or an external hdd. That could also be worth investigating.
