My Humax HB1000S is five years old and I’ve never had a problem with recording on the external usb I have with it. However, yesterday it just wasn’t there, it comes up with a message ‘recordings not available, you need to connect a usb hard drive to your box’.

I have tried power off, unplugging, restarting and even another drive but I’m always given the same message.

Has anyone got any ideas or experiences of this? Thought I would ask before scrapping the box, if that is the problem.
