As far as I have been able to ascertain the bluetooth feature of the Aura enables the remote to be used via bluetooth instead of by infrared, and nothing more. Is that it???
It’s necessary for voice controls/searches, I believe.

No, it can be used to connect to bluetooth headphones, speakers, and perhaps other items.
Logged on to Sony headphones and Sony Bluetooth receiver also Logitech keyboard, no problems.
