    Once, power cycle restored everything…

    Twice on another Humax unit.

Once a standby cycle restored all, the other time a power cycle did the trick.

You should have removed the power for 10 mins or so. Unlikely to help now as you have formatted the HDD.

Thank you…I’ll know what to do if it happens again. Pity I did not no this info before formatting which to ensure a clean start

The twice it happened was just after startup both on my HDR-1000S.

I have seen other posts on other units suggesting the same problem.

I believe accessing recordings shortly after boot sometimes results in zero contents initially, as the unit is ‘busy’ with all sorts of housekeeping eg populating the guide.

My 15 minute power on timer at 07:00 should ensure that the first manual boot is with a fully populated epg for most. :-)
