InactiveI have a fvp 5000T on Sunday it was fine , went to switch on from stand by to on , absolutely nothing . Try get red light to blue was fine but still nothing on screen. You can hear the noise from inside the box . I think it’s still recording to what I had set from before. I’ve checked hdmi and aerial connections both fine.

InactiveHave you tried completely disconnecting the power from the box for a few minutes and then reconnecting it? It is always worth a try in instances like this.
If it works, it takes a few minutes to boot up again, so be patient.

InactiveIf you can, connect up the Composite Video o/p (Yellow Co-ax), from the box to your TV, switch to this i/p on your TV and check if you have an signal. If you do then it’s the HDMI output from the box that has gone (common issue with Humax boxes). If this is the case then let me know as I might be able to help.

I don’t think I have seen many reports of failed HDMI output; which Humax boxes do you think are affected by this problem?

InactiveI have seen issues on all the Humax boxes, DTR-T2100, HDR-1800T, FVP-4000T, FVP-5000T, HDR-1000S, HB-1100S & HDR-1100S.
What happens is that over time the thermal paste dries out causing processor to overheat and lose connections between the substrate and the die (same as old XBox issue).
As well as the HDMI output going, other common faults are no power up and H/D issues (either doesn’t see or can’t read/write).

InactiveIt’s all good all working. I use a 2 in 1 hdmi . 1 of the hdmi or power cable to it was loose , my TV has only 2 hdmi sockets yet I need 3. Certainly I could of used the 3 colour leads think there AV leads or something, on my 3rd box.
