    thanks

Thanks for your quick response Barry.

It seems an unusual development path unless, perhaps, Humax are moving away from the satellite source ?

We have two humax satellite recorders:- a 1100S and a Foxsat (I think is the name). I’m trying to find a good way of watching the recordings of (+control of course) the 1100S in the second room and the espresso seemed a lovely solution. Any ideas anyone ? Are there any other more joined up products ?

    many thanks

    Gerry

As the G2 boxes do not have a DLNA server (only a client) then only a wired solution will work which needs a second TV or Monitor.

eg this uses a thin single cat 6 network cable.

The other way round is possible if the Foxsat-HDR has the custom firmware add on installed. This has a DLNA server package and as the G2 boxes have a dlna client you can view Foxsat-HDR recordings.

They have a request for quote out for the G3 boxes so definitely not the case. The simple fact is Humax initially promised a DLNA Server on the 1000S series but later could not deliver on that thru lack of processing power, so you will never see remote viewing on that platform.
