Hi .New member here.

I joined this forum to enquire why one of my two Foxsat HDR boxes had a problem.

I’ve 2 boxes served by a 4 way lnb, one in lounge & one in kitchen.

About a week ago the lounge box took ages to boot up & when it finally did there was no progs.showing on TV. The TV showed what prog. it should be showing & recorded ‘stuff’ on box replayed fine. I tried switching box on/off but no joy. On screen diagnostics showed no signal from both lnb feeds.

The kitchen system was still working fine so I assumed it was a lnb problem so changed that for a new one with still no joy. I’d avoided swopping boxes as kitchen box a nightmare to access connections at rear.

Yesterday a pal turned up & had ‘a look’ at the lounge system & in doing so switched the box off & on again, a thing I’d done many times, & it worked again. Booted up fine & showed 100% on diagnostics.

Still working this morning so feeling a bit of a fraud posting on here but I’d really like to understand what happened. The only thing I can think of was a sudden overnight temperature drop but …..?

Living in France 2nd hand Foxsat boxes are like rocking horse poo so I’m going to buy one in the UK for a spare & have it delivered to a friend for later collection.
