Has anyone repaired the display or main mother board and can suggest likely components or tests to try?
You might want to explain what symptoms the box is exhibiting.
The motherboard fault is the machine will not boot even though the hard disk and psu tests ok.
The display lights dimly but no characters are visible.

If you disconnect the hard drive power and data connections does the box boot ?

I have two faulty machines.
I tried replacing one with a known good display and it then booted up.
The other failed to boot with the good display.
For both tests the power and data hard disc leads were disconnected.
Could be a PSU problem (capacitors) with high ESR, not unheard of with this m/c.
