The display lights dimly but no characters are visible. August 21, 2018 at 3:12 pm #87404 AnonymousInactive Thanks for the reply. I have two faulty machines. I tried replacing one with a known good display and it then booted up. The other failed to boot with the good display. For both tests the power and data hard disc leads were disconnected. August 22, 2018 at 6:30 pm #87405 AnonymousInactive Could be a PSU problem (capacitors) with high ESR, not unheard of with this m/c.
