I have been asked if it is possible to run the output from a DVD through the Humax to the television.
If it is would it use the HDMI cable?

Yes but there is no point, the output of the DVD will only be available from the TV scart. It won’t get digitised and output over hdmi.
Doesn’t that depend on the DVD player? It may be an upscaling model and its HDMI output give a better picture than letting the TV upscale the SCART output.
So the question I would ask is *why* would you want to daisy-chain the DVD through the PVR? Lack of HDMI inputs on the TV? Lack of HDMI auto-switching on the TV? Or what?
Thank you for the replies. I have passed them on to my friend in Earl Shilton and he thinks it will be best to use the HDMI from the DVD, He was wanting to reduce the number of cables as the television will be wall mounted.
If I were worried about cables showing on a wall-mounted TV I would put in a false wall with an inch or so gap and run the cables behind that.
Why not use a HDMI switch box. Feed both in to the box which has one output to the TV.
The are quite small and are powered by the devices connected.
Good suggestion. And can be sited out of sight behind a tinted glass-fronted cubby-hole or cupboard which will still allow the remote control to work.
