Whilst watching live tv, recorded tv or apps such as Plex or Youtube, I regularly get a quick flash of black screen.

Might be helpful if you can say what the interval between the flashes is ?

I have no issues with recorded HD TV content on A Full-HD kitchen TV and a LG 4K Oled at the same time. provided I select the 1080p out option.
Just watched a Full Movie recorded from Channel 5-HD no video glitches and skipped all the ad breaks.

As it is regularly rather than randomly, it might be helpful to know whether it is happening every few seconds, every few minutes, every few hours etc.
