I keep getting’ Hard Disk Error’on trying to playback some recordings.Sometimes by starting again i get my recording,other times it is lost. Is my hard drive wearing out? Or what?

I keep getting’ Hard Disk Error’on trying to playback some recordings.Sometimes by starting again i get my recording,other times it is lost. Is my hard drive wearing out?
Yes probably. You might be able to improve things by taking the hard drive out of the Humax and formatting it in a PC (do a Full format not a quick format); then run chkdsk and see if there are any bad blocks reported. If there are not then the disk should be OK for a while (hard to say how long). IF there are or you don’t want the hassle then fit a new drive which is straight forward.
