InactiveHi,
Wonder if anyone can help me fix my parents Humax connectivity issues?
I have read countless threads on this issue, with none of the solutions working for me.
They bought the wifi dongle to try and watch iplayer etc, but so far although it connects to the network successfully we get the following message once I launch the portal…
“an error occurred while launching the application at http://www.humaxtvportal.com”.
So far trying to fix this I have.
1. soft reset, turining off via stanby
2. Reset by turning off at the mains
3. Updated the software version to the latest release.
Pinged the humax, which worked.
I’m guessing it is a network issue, with the gateway IP or something being incorrect,as box is connected to the wifi network, although it says ‘network connected’ not ‘internet connected’ (not sure what it should say?)
I can upload screenshots of settings menu if that helps?
Thanks in advance

Just tell us what the Humax reports for IP address, Gateway address and DNS server? Are there other wireless devices on the network?

InactiveThanks for your reply.
There are 2 laptops and an ipod on the wifi network. Not sure if they also have a wifi printer on the network also.
It is a BT homehub in case you need to know, which I’m pretty sure is a router and modem.
IP address is: 192.168.2.5
netmask: 255.255.255.0
gateway address 192.168.2.1
DNS is same as gateway.
I tried manually changing IP to match gateway and DNS, but this did not work. I was clutching at straws by this stage.
Thanks

That all looks reasonable.

That definitely won’t work. I think your setup should be working; not sure what to suggest. I think I would suggest temporarily connecting via a network cable rather than WiFi and see if that works.

Cheers for your time
