    Hi there

I have an HDR-1000S. A few days ago I started getting the error message “Incorrect Link, the link is currently not available” when I try to watch the On Demand channel UKTV.

I can watch other on demand channels such as Netflix and BBC Iplayer fine so I don’t think the internet is the problem. Even so I have rebooted everything and am still getting the same issue.

I have searched online and there are a couple of instances of this error message but I can’t find a fix. Is it an issue at Humax’s end?

It’s working fine on my HDR-1000S.

    Thanks for checking.

Anyone got any ideas what I can try to fix this?

Check you don’t have parental guidance set on your ISP source.

I can access adult sites from my laptop etc so I assume there is nothing like that.

    One correction, it’s actually a 1010S.

It could be something to do with the name server your router is using i.e. failing to resolve the URL.

I tried connecting it to the wifi on my phone, same error.

Can you run a long temporary network cable from the box to the router network switch ?

Mine is wired via a pair of 300Mbps homeplugs. In the rack is a 16 way 1Gbps network switch so all kit is hard wired via the single homeplug pair.

I can give it a go but if it’s the same on two different wifi networks, I’m not sure that plugging it in directly will do much.

Mine works yours does not. Mine is hard wired yours is not. WiFi is subject to all sorts of interference from neighbours WIFI kit. Hard wired is immune.

Boxes are frequently not in a good location for WIFI.

A cheap cable will confirm if that’s a fix for you. The only item of kit I have that relies on WIFi is a tablet and my laptop.

I have a very good Tri Band WIFI router that covers all my house and garden.

The Virgin router is crap. It’s in modem mode with all WiFi provided by a seperate tri band Nighthawk router.

Download speed is 100Mbps. Internal transfers are twice as fast.

Not sure who your ISP is but in general the supplied kit is not very good.

I’ve given it a go, first using my BT broadband extender plugs which I haven’t used for a few months as it’s an old house and I didn’t trust the wiring to transfer the signal very well: same error message.

Then plugged it directly into the router (which involved taking the box into a different room so was powered down for some time), still the same error message.

Is this an error message that is usually caused by poor signal?

Humax replied to me and said to do a factory reset. All working now. Thanks for your time everyone.
