Does the HUMAX HDR-1800T, which seems quite affordable refurbished/secondhand, overcome the ‘American Dad’ skipping issues of the 9300T (which I’ve had enough of)?
If not, which model with similar 9300T features, does please? Not that bothered about HD or apps/internet, but don’t mind.

I’ve not had that problem on a 2000T, which is very similar to the 1800T. I don’t think any of the Humax machines after the 9150/9300 display that annoying, reported to Humax and not fixed, problem. Be aware that the 1800/2000T doesn’t have PinP and bookmarks like the 9300.
Thanks for your reply. I don’t really use PiP (although have a couple of 9300s available should the need arise!) or bookmarks (don’t even know what they’re for!). Do you happen to know other differences between 1800 & 2000T please? Thanks.

They are very similar, a post by Luke over at hummy.tv says:
(1) Colour.
(2) HDR-2000T has 2 USB ports, the HDR-1800T has 1 USB port.
(3) The HDR-2000T standard remote control (RM-I09U) has a dedicated button for switching the remote to TV mode and a dedicated button for switching the remote to PVR mode.
The HDR-1800T standard remote (RM-H06S) does not have a TV mode. This frees a button for ‘WIDE’ and another button for ‘TV/RADIO’.
(Both units can use the other’s remote.)
I would add:
(4) the HDR-2000T uses a 3.5″ hard drive, the HDR-1800T uses a 2.5″ hard drive.
I can also confirm neither model suffers from the skipping problem.

The 1800T is so far doing the business for me.
One question: using the programme guide is there a quick way to ‘go to the next day’ to make it quicker to set up recordings, as I believe there is on the 9300T? I haven’t located it, and haven’t seen reference in the manual, although only looked briefly.
It does mention it in the 1800T user guide but there due to a miss-print it doesn’t mention which buttons to use, just that there are buttons.
It is the same as the 9300T
I.e.
Use the Instant Reply or Commerical Skip button to move to move back or forward 1 day.

Sorry to return to an old thread, but now also considering getting a Humax Foxsat-HDR DVR for Freesat. Any ideas whether this is likely to suffer from the skipping issue mentioned in the original post?

As far as I know the only Humax boxes that suffer from that particular problem are the 9150T and 9300T so the FOXSAT HDR should be fine but of course the hardware is getting old.
Thanks Martin. Yes appreciate they are pretty old kit now. Not sure if there’s a more up-to-date Freesat PVR.

HDR-1000S, HDR-1010S, HDR-1100S are all more modern. If I was looking, I would try and find a good second-hand HDR-1100S but the FOXSAT HDR does have the advantage of having custom firmware available.
