    I have a HDR-1000S/1010S – the one with the display on the front. I have never been able to read the display unless the room is dark. Do others find the display too dark? Is there any setting or adjustment for the display brightness? I cant find one…

    No, it cannot be altered or switched off. The most common complaint is that it is too bright and intrusive in a darkened room. I agree it is difficult to read in a normal brightness room. You’re stuck with it.

    If you have a 1100S, the problem isn’t present :(

    There is no display.

    Not suggesting you downgrade to the latest box 😥
