I did quite a bit of reading before choosing a fast wi fi repeater to use with my first YouView stb. I have successfully set up the router to repeat my fibre broadband. I can use it to open webpages etc and my speedtest results are very respectable.
My Hummy is wired with an Ethernet cable and set to connect automatically, which it is reporting to have done successfully. In the settings the network connection status is connected, I can observe that the epg is now backward populated with programmes with play buttons and there is now content showing in the on demand section of the menu. The problem is all the players return the same error message – player isn’t responding, error YMV105.
I have checked for updates to software and players, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE WRONG?
I’ve looked here and nothing it suggests actually appears to be the problem
Who is your ISP?
My isp is sse also known as swalec. I wonder why you ask? I can operate all the catchup services via other devices, phones etc.
BT as ISP, and/or settings on a Home Hub router, could explain the difficulties with the players.
Have you tried playing a catchup programme using the Play button in the backward EPG?
It works! I’ve done nothing. 24hrs later it just works.
