InactiveHi there,
I’m new to Freesat. Have read the FAQs and was interested in “what can I record with 2 cables”.
Last night I was recording Channel 4HD and was looking to view/record other channels. I was viewing ITV2 while recording. I also managed to record 4Seven which I know is on the same frequency and was able to continue watching ITV2.
However, I was unable to access Film 4 at all until I stopped the recording. This didn’t make sense as I have 2 LNBs. I can understand not being able to record Film 4 at the same time but not even viewing it?
Thanks in advance.

ParticipantHi welcome to our forum.
The first thing to check is how many cables your Foxsat-hdr thinks it has connected.
Press Menu – then down till Setup is selected.
Press Right button to enter setup menu.
On your remote press in order
Red Green Yellow Blue Green Yellow Blue
A menu called Manual Setup should appear. Press right on Antenna Setting.
Antenna Type – should read Fixed Antenna
Connection type – should read Two Cable(Same)
If the connection type doesn’t say Two Cable(same) then power off the box and check that the two cables connected to trhe box are on the outer connections (with nothing on the middle one).
If incorrect put right and reboot the box.
Now do a reset to factory defaults. (Make a note of your recording reservations first or photograph with a digital camera.
Menu – Setup – Factory Reset.
Look out for the two cables found message during the reset.
Looking at what you was recording
Basically you were recording Channel 4 HD and 4seven which should only use a single tuner (transponder 11126 V). You should have been able to view any other channel using the second tuner.

InactiveThanks. Did that. Seems to have sorted the problem. The interesting thing then is that I actually managed to record two and watch one when in one tuner mode. Very cool.
