ParticipantWell known sympton of failed capacitors in the power supply. Easy fix for anyone that can use a soldering iron.

InactiveI had to reset mine about a week ago, due to it failing to boot past the rotating stage on the display.
It has been fine ever since.

A bit of background. The capacitors in the Foxsat-HD are made by Capxon. Long before the Foxsat-HD they were fitted in Sky-HD boxes made by Thomson (no relation
, which failed in around 18 months or so. For whatever reason the same capacitors were used in the Foxsat-HD but thankfully not in the later Foxsat-HDR. My Foxsat-Hdr from the first batch is still used everyday (though largely to track Freesat transponder changes).
Thankfully they are relatively easy to change. Good news is not seen anyone report a repeat when replaced with a decent spec replacement.
I have one I lean’t to a friend that I havent’ got to fixing yet

The reset button is designed to be the equivalent of turning off at the mains.
Unfortunately, as Gerrymac had already tried switching off at the mains the use of the reset button was almost doomed to failure.

InactiveHi,
Just one more thing..Can the remote for this faulty box be programmed as a spare for my HDR T2 Box.
Cheers

InactiveYes, they both use the RM-F04 remote control, and as supplied, will operate either box without re-programming.
