InactiveI have just updated the Humax software to the latest version 1.03.12 and installed the latest customware version 2.23. The Humax box itself works perfectly, including access to BBC iplayer. My HDR is connected to my router via a network cable. However when I type the IP address into the browser on my PC I receive the message “cannot establish a conncection to the server at – the IP address”.
I can “see” the HDR when I log into my router (on the PC) and the IP address ties up. I have also tried typing the IP address into Safari on my ipad with no luck. Which make me think the problem is not in my PC/ipad browser.
I have not had this problem with earlier versions of the customware.
Any help is gratefully received, I’ve run out of ideas!

ParticipantCan you ping the HDR IP address from a command prompt ?

InactiveI wouldn’t know how, my IT skills are not up to that!

ParticipantClick start, type CMD into the search box and press enter. In the command box type ping xxx.xxx.xx.xx (the x’s are your box IP address). Press enter.

InactiveOK, I managed that, this is the result-

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Or should I have done something to amend the path beforehand, i.e. get rid of “C:userJohn….?

ParticipantNo that’s fine, your computer can clearly see the HDR FOX T2 on your network.
Do you know how to reserve that address on your router so it will never change ?
Have you rebooted the HDR FOX T2 after flashing the firmware ?

InactiveI think I have done that (it’s the first time I’ve tried). I added a line (with the MAC and IP addresses) in the router’s “DHCP reservation list” and ticked “enable”.

That sounds OK. Did you reboot the box ?

InactiveI have now and tried typing in the IP address in my browser for the HDR, but I still get the same “cannot connect” message.

ParticipantRunning out of ideas. Do you know how to use FTP ?. If so turn on content sharing on the HDR FOX T2, run a FTP programme like Filezilla and try logging onto the HDR FOX T2 using
HumaxFTP IP password 0000.

InactiveI don’t. I’ll download Filezilla and give it a go. I had thought that reinstalling an earlier version of the official and custom firmware might to enable me to connect to my PC. And then trying the latest versions again.

Create a new connection using the connection manager in FileZilla.

InactiveWell, I think I’m in. Within Filezilla I can see directories with all my recorded programs there. What’s next?
But I don’t really understand how to use Fillezilla!

It’s not a replacement for the CF. You can transfer files directly from and to the HDR FOX T2 by simply dragging and dropping them.
The CF makes this a lot more useful because you can for instance setup a virtual usb drive on the box, copy SD files to it to decrypt them and then ftp the decrypted .ts file directly to a PC.
Everything seems to be normal other than the CF doesn’t appear to have installed correctly.
I would download a clean copy and reflash the box again.

InactiveOK. Thanks for your help Grant. At least I’ll be able to make copies of programs I’d like to keep. Cheers.
