Is it possible to renumber the channels on my HDR1800T?
I’ve seen posts to do this by installing custom firmware alongside the main one for a Fox, is it possible to do the same on mine? Can you use the same custom firmware?

There is no custom firmware for the HD-1800/2000T boxes. Only for the earlier HDR-FOX-T2.
