InactiveHi everyone
I wonder if anyone else has experienced this as I can’t find anyone with a similar issue through Google.
As the title says really: bought this box 2 days ago and last night it started turning itself off when I changed the channel. I’ve done a factory reset, updated software and changed remote batteries but its still doing it.
Does anyone have any advice please before I send it back?
Many thanks

ModeratorWelcome to our Forum

Cannot remember seeing this reported before.
Does it do the same if you use the front panel button to change channels?

Is it connected to your network? Does it still happen if you temporarily disconnect it?

InactiveThanks for your replies.
Barry:
It seemed to work when it happened just now and I used the front panel buttons. I don’t think it did last night though so Im not sure if this means anything?
Martin: Do you mean if I disconnect the Ethernet cable? Sorry Im not very techy!
Thanks again.

InactiveOh and for some reason it seems to happen when I change from the Vintage channel 242? I can guarantee it’ll do it then. Very odd.
ETA: Actually that’s when I change from an internet based channel to a normal freeview one? I wonder if that is anything to do with it?

ModeratorGood spot.
My unit reboots when changing from an IPTV channel to broadcast one – same on 1800T
Will report to Humax Towers on Monday.

InactiveAh ha! Wonder if that’s something that can actually be fixed? I like vintage TV

Thanks, Barry

Assuming the problem involves changing from IPTV channels then it will, I suspect, need a new software version to correct the problem so you will have to be patient. You might try experimenting to find a workaround by seeing if instead of changing direct from a channel that causes the box to crash to a broadcast channel you could see if changing to other IPTV channels as an intermediate step helps.

InactiveFunnily enough i had this exact issue yesterday after changing from IPTV channel Vintage TV to ‘normal’ freeview, and came here to see if anyone else had experienced it.
Just seems another bug to add to the list for this box.

As Martin has stated suspect a new software version will be needed.
Have tried to find a work around to no avail so far.
My limited tests results – If recording and user changes from an IPTV to broadcast channel, unit reboots to off – recording is obviously curtailed.
Not recording unit reboots to IPTV channel again.
Both cases after reboot or when next switched on if user inputs a broadcast channel number when the N/N banner appears and before IPTV channel has a chance to stream then unit changes to broadcast channel.
Problem reported to Humax Towers yesterday.

InactiveThanks everybody

Humax have told me to do a manual update of the software but the current software 1.01.13 is the one I have installed.
And the instructions they gave me (power off box, insert usb, power on tap the down channel key) don’t work.
I wish I’d never bought this thing.

You do realise that the down channel key is the one on the front of the box not the remote?

InactiveHi all,
First post here – installed my HDR 2000T last Saturday and have had numerous crashes since.
I upgraded from 1.01.06 to 1.01.13, and the crashes continued, but yesterday evening I too narrowed down the cause to ‘Vintage TV’, since they only seem to happen when selecting this channel,
So I’m pleased to see that this is now a known bug that will hopefully be sorted very soon

Martin
