The Aura update offers me a selection of transcoding bitrates. The Aura defaults to 2. Does this affect downloading – should I select a higher or lower bitrate?
Is this what is now presented on the new “settings” view when using the web / URL view of the box? Looks like from there the resolution can be amended too.
2mbps bitrate for 720×576 is about right I think. If you increased the resolution to 1280×720 you’d probably want to increase to something closer to 3mbps I think.
Might be interesting to try various bitrates and see what you find the sweetspot to be for your downloaded viewing pleasure!
Presumably changing it would also change the in-home streaming to device options, so increasing the bitrate too high might make realtime encoding more challenging.
