Hiya, I’m a newbie here, I have recently brought an aura box, having got so fed up with sky putting up the cost of TV, and finding it unaffordable now. I have tried to download the aura app but my Google pixel 7a is running on android 15, which isn’t compatable with the app as the app was designed for older android version, Does anyone know if there are plans to update the app to run on newer android versions???

I don’t know but in the past new versions of the app have appeared to support new versions of Android. I suggest you contact Humax support.

What Martin failed to tell you is that several people including myself have been unable to download the app and get told it is due to the app being for earlier versions of Android even though their versions are older and other people with the same or newer versions are able to get the app without issue. I have not looked into the problem much as the app is not of importance to me but I have seen no cure offered on this site yet. This is one of the threads where it was discussed.
Oh ok, I have got intouch with humax support, I’ll see if I get any response from them, in the mean time I will have a look at the link you posted trog.

Has anyone tried downloading the Aura app from an alternative source to the Play Store and sideloading it?

The current version of the app was released in 2023, the same year that the phone was released, so I am surprised that you have been unable to install it. Be interesting to hear what Humax support have to say, and to know why no-one else has complained here about it not installing on Android 15.

If they reply I will post with what they say! But when I try to install it says “this app isn’t available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android” In 2023 the phone had android 13, so maybe the app would have run on that!!

Did you read the thread I posted? It did not work on my Android 13 or on others Android 14 whilst working for some other people who have those same versions so the release date of the app is not relevant to this issue. Someone in that thread contacted Humax about the issue but did not report back so I assume they were not given a fix.
