I’m suffering a lot of momentary audio drop outs across lots of different channels on my HDR-Fox T2. This happens both on live TV and recordings. Signal strength on each mux is 88-90%, and signal quality 100%. The audio on the HDMI output is fine, but the optical output drops out regularly every 10-15 seconds. Very annoying. Any ideas?
The toslink is only about 1.2m-1.5m and it’s plugged into a Yamaha home theatre receiver RXV2095 i think. I’m using a toslink connection for the audio from my Bluray player as well and that’s not causing any issues.

Try switching the toslink cables. If that’s the same suggests a fault on the box. A dry joint or Pcb track crack turning off the driving led maybe. If it’s the same after swapping the cables you ought to get the box replaced under warranty.
Thanks for your suggestions. I still can’t quite believe this, but I swapped the toslink cable for another, and the fault has gone, so it must have been the cable operating intermittently. How an optical cable in a fixed position can work and then not work is a mystery to me.
