Hello everyone, I am new to this site and apologise if I have put a question in the wrong place.
I have just bought an HDR FOX T2 and I am using it on Freeview feeding into an Analogue TV (Panasonic TX-28PM11). This does not have an HDMI socket so I am using a Scart lead. The Humax is set to 16:9 ratio and the Panasonic is set to Panasonic Auto (WIDE).
Unfortunately, there is a slight lengthening of peoples’ heights which is most noticeable in their faces being unduly long. I have tried all the combinations that I could think of with the aspect ratio and display format settings with no success.
I have tried a check by replacing the Humax with a simple “set top box” (from the switchover episode) and the results appear to be very similar, which seems to rule out the Humax as the cause of the trouble but I would dearly like to find a solution to the problem to avoid buying a new TV. Is it possible that there is an adjustment on the TV to “shrink” the vertical range or “extend” the horizontal range or both?
The real puzzle is that the previous Humax model (PVR9200T) did not appear to be bad enough to notice this effect.
I would be very grateful for any lines of action that anyone can suggest. Thank you.
