Good Day All
My aged and beloved HD has been quite poorly lately.
It suddenly kept saying USB HDD was not there, then that it was corrupt (where’s my share of the bribes?) and it would then start working.
It now has a newer, more fatal flaw.
It shows about 2 seconds of wild static, then half a second of normal TV, and that’s it.
I’ve tried updating the firmware to the latest version – the update process displayed fine – but then nothing.
HD goes into a Yamaha Receiver then LG TV. TV aerial signal fine, laptop into HD’s HDMI socket displays fine.
“Handshaking”?
I’d be sad to lose it as it does everything we need, and I’d lose all the “A Place In The Sun” we have recorded (though as regular viewers know they’re all repeats now anyway).
Any help greatly appreciated!
Just in case anyone else has the same thing (maybe on different a device).
This is a “hand-shaking” issue – something’s getting confused along the HDMI path.
I powered everything off at the socket for half an hour, then back on in the order of TV – AV Receiver – Humax and everything’s now fine.
