InactiveNow that BBC programmes are to be available for 30 days, will the rollback EPG begin to roll back for the full 30 days? Any information?

InactiveFreesat should certainly be aware of the planned change, see this dated April…

In theory it might not be a significant change, to extend the listings in the rollback EPG. Depending.
Freesat are at least in a better position than the turn-back-time competition. Neither YouView nor Virgin have yet got the new iPlayer.

InactiveAccording to Recombu (http://recombu.com/digital/news/youview-bbc-connected-red-button-new-iplayer), the 30-day window is available with the iPlayer implementation which has just been acquired by Freetime’s rival YouView.
Freetime iPlayer users still seem to have only seven days.

They’d have to rewrite the software first and then update so unlikely you’d see it overnight.

InactiveWould they? Why can’t Freetime access the same iPlayer service as YouView?

InactiveIPlayer Help says:
Quote:Is 30 Days available on my device?Where 30-day availability doesn’t apply
Programmes are now available for 30 days on most versions of iPlayer. However there are some exceptions.
We’re working with our partners to bring 30-day availability to these platforms soon:
Virgin TiVo
YouView
BT Vision
Freesat
Xbox 360
Roku/ Now TV
So maybe we’ll get it soon, now it’s been rolled out to YouView. Odd though – it’s still seven days on my Smart TV but it doesn’t appear among the exceptions listed above.

The roll back feature was written to only scroll back 7 days so surely it goes without saying that part of the software would need to have that command rewritten to look beyond 7 days.

The programmes aren’t available beyond seven days when you access the iPlayer portal in the On Demand section. That’s surely down to the BBC, not Freesat.
But apparently there’s some issue – what, exactly, is not clear from the BBC Help pages.

You can still watch programs beyond 7 days though, Eastenders goes back to the 3rd
October.

InactiveSo it does.
Thanks, Gonzo. I was looking at the channel-by-channel “Schedule” list (over on the RH side when you choose a channel). My mistake.
