New Sony Bravia KD43XE7003 and existing Humax box. TV delivered and installed yesterday and Humax box re-connected. Never thought to test before he went. Cannot switch Humax on – just red light remains. Managed to somehow get it work v briefly (so cancelled the installation chap coming back) – but then unable to do so again. I checked all plugs etc. No help from Sony.

Please provide details of which Humax unit you are having difficulty with.

    It’s HDR 2000T.

Yes, I’ve tried it without being attached to the TV, but still red.

What makes it so strange is that I did manage to get it to work for a while yesterday, as I said. It’s so sifficult to access the connections on this new TV – I was used to my Panasonic and am really regretting changing.

Does the PVR button on remote light up when pressing standby button to switch unit on?

Yes. I just checked – I hadn’t noticed before but guess I was too busy looking at the box.

Can you switch unit on by touching the power button on front of unit?

    Other things to try:

    1. New remote batteries.

    2. Take batteries out of remote, press OK and 0 (zero) for 30 seconds, reinsert batteries and try again.

    3. Check/Change the remote code see this FAQ

Thank you. Yes, it’s definitely a problem with the remote as all sorts of strange things have happened before your latest reply (suddenly came on, then couldn’t change channels or switch it back off). I did all the battery things yesterday, just in case. Tomorrow I’ll do the other things you suggest. I’ll report back. Thank you for your help.
