Hi, wondering if anyone knows the reason for this…
Recently bought the HDR-2000T, and have noticed that when pressing the “i” button the resolution indicator sometimes changes between 1080p and 1080i during the same programme. Similarly, programes recorded in 1080p sometimes show as 1080i when played back, or at least when I’ve pressed the “i” button this is what appears to be happening.
Just wondering if this is normal, what could be causing it, and if indeed 1080i is worse quality than 1080p. I have the resolution on both the PVR and my television set to 1080p.

You can’t control the format that programs are recorded in; what is broadcast is what will be recorded.
