InactiveHi, can anyone assist pls?
I need to reinstall 1.03.06 on my box (what it came with).
I’ve downloaded it from http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Firmware_Downloads
however I have problems installing it.
It downloads into the Hummmy ok and then when it starts programming (starts off at 0% for the second time) it either fails at 1% or 36% with
E-HC Incorrect Header Block (CRC-16) Software Damaged, Retry or Replace
I’ve tried a couple of USB sticks (one of which I’ve used with the Hummy before), but no joy.
How can I return this to factory 1.03.06?
Thanks,
Jeddy

Why do you need to reinstall?

For a return – faulty.
Have you had the custom firmware installed? If so it would be better to follow the documented procedure for removing it. Just installing 1.03.06 over the top will leave traces.

InactiveYes I had CF installed, I guess I’ve misunderstood the procedure for removing!
I did the Set to RMA mode.
I currently get the CF 2.19 msg along with the RMA msg when I start it.

InactiveRe-reading http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Remove_Modified_Firmware
From that
Prepare for Return to Manufacturer (RMA)
Custom Firmware version 2.13 onward has a built-in option called Return to Manufacturer (RMA) mode to allow for complete removal of custom firmware components from the internal hard disk. From the Web Interface Menu select >> Diagnostics >> Set-Return-to-manufacturer (RMA) Mode. Once done (there are several confirmation steps), restart your box and it will show ‘RMA’ on the front panel.
** Well it does, but I also get CF 2.19**
This confirms that all custom firmware components have been removed from the internal hard disk. Now install a version of official firmware (not 1.03.06), the box will be back to a standard unmodified unit and the ‘RMA’ message should be removed, if the message is still displayed after installing the official firmware, there is a USB plug-in procedure DeRMA to remove it, (Notes HERE)
so, ok, I don’t install original firmware, but why do I still get the CF 2.19 msg?

No reason it cannot be discussed on here if one of our members can assist.

ModeratorIf that was the case then quite a few posts would need to be removed

As long as our rules are adhered to, then no problem discussing other aspects of custom firmware.
