InactiveI’ve had a humax 1100s for a couple of years with iplayer via a smart DNS service. In the past few days subs have stopped working on iplayer – I’m not hard of hearing but like subs particularly in mumbly bbc dramas. I’ve tried switching between iplayer and iplayer beta – even did a factory reset all to no avail
iplayer subs are working on my phone and laptop. Any help greatly appreciated. Thx

ModeratorWelcome to our Forum

Just checked a couple of programmes using a HB 1100S and they appear to be working…will check on a HDR 1100S shortly.
Any specific programmes you want checked?

InactiveThanks Barry. Seems to affect all programmes –
option to turn subs on is available in the iplayer menu but doesn’t do anything! (the same programmes have subs on my laptop/phone). I actually have a HDR 1100S running the latest firmware. I’ve emailed humax and will post here when I get a reply.

ModeratorJust checked a few programmes on a HDR 1100S and subs are working OK?
Anyone else have a 1100S and willing to try?

ParticipantWorking fine on HDR-1000S (Same software as 1100S). Nice varying coloured ones on yesterdays Miriam’s Big American Adventure (Series 1 Ep 02)
– accessed by backwards epg from channel 106.

InactiveI have exactly the same situation as the original poster. Sometimes the iplayer subtitles work, sometimes they don’t. There seems to be no pattern. Sometimes restarting the box brings them back. Sometimes leaving iplayer and restarting it. I can watch a progamme with the subs, then go back to it later and they have gone.
Like Digitaldr, I also use a smartDNS. I don’t know if that makes any difference.
The subs are fine on my laptop and Android. So the problem is with the Humax.
