InactiveSeries link is not offered as an option when I select record on some programmes. My previous BT Vision box allowed series record on the same programmes which leads me to think it is a YouView box (Humax) problem? Any other experience of this ?

ModeratorWelcome to the Forum

If you could provide some examples then we can investigate further.

InactiveMaybe you could post examples to see if we can replicate it

InactiveExamples that do not offer series link (but do on old BT Vision Box) include:-
Man V Food Nation (Food Network)
Ace Of Cakes (Food Network)
The examples do seem to be on one channel but I have experienced others.

InactiveSorry Barry – thanks very much for the welcome !

ModeratorNo problem

A quick check of the series crid data via a HDR T2 and both programmes contain the necessary data, and series linking OK on that unit as detailed below.
Caveat the series link coding is a little unusual.
Man V Food Nation 1730 has link OK
Ace of Cakes 0600 has linked OK
Edit:
Having now booted the YV box – looks like it cannot handle/recognise the series data format that the Food network are using.
For the episodes as listed above (info from a HDR T2)
Man V Food series crid is – /23586
Ace of Cakes series crid is – /21194

InactiveThanks Barry,
Any suggestions as to how I might get this resolved? Wife is threatening to kick out the YV box if she can’t have her baking programmes lined up

BTW – would this also be the reason why I cant series record the new series of Young Apprentice on BBC1 HD but can on BBC1 ?

ModeratorBesides setting a timer for each individual programme there is not a lot you can do about it, as the PVR lacks the basics such as repeat timers.
I have sent a message to YV support.
Edit:
Young Apprentice on BBC1 HD links for me, try again.

InactiveIt seems that no programmes on BBC1NI HD will offer Series record. Could this be that its coded differently for the region (NI) ?

ModeratorAh just been DSO’d –
Clutching at a very large bale of straw – perhaps data not fully broadcast as yet?
Think you might have to call or send YV a report on that one.

InactiveOk – issues submitted to YV Support …..
Many thanks for fast comms

ModeratorUpdate, someone I know in NI has confirmed problem with BBC 1HD and series links.
YV replied to my query re Food Network asking all sorts of questions bar my shoe size, why, heaven knows, surely simple enough for them to check!

ModeratorResponse to the Food network issue:
With regards to your enquiry about the availability of series record on the Food Network.
We have been advised by the Food Network that they do not allow series recording and should the viewer wish to record more that one episode they will need to record each one separately
Then Youview why:
1. Do series timers work on other freeview equipment eg HDR T2.
2. Why do Food Network bother transmitting series and programme crid data.
Youview obviously have not bothered to carry out any investigation of this issue whatsoever.
I give up 🙄

ModeratorWell surprise surprise….
YV finally accepted there was an issue after all, and have apparently been in liason with DMOL, according to a message I received today.
Food network series links now appear to work!
