    Thanks Barry.

It beggars belief that I have to register on a forum and ask a question to get this information!!!

In the Android store the full text states:

“Compatible with HUMAX iCord Evolution(HMS-1000S), iCord PRO and HMS-1000T”

It says similar in the iTunes appstore description

    Quote:
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/humax-tv-guide/id880456350?mt=8

    Compatibility

    Requires iOS 5.0 and later

Compatible with HUMAX iCord Evolution(HMS-1000S) and iCord PRO

There is nothing to suggest it will work with anything else.

Can you confirm that to get the command prompt you press start, type cmd and right click the cmd.exe that shows and select “Run as Administrator”

Otherwise have you tried the graphical front end written by Astronomy over on hummy.tv available here (link). It should auto select the correct drive.

One other point – I hope you did not allow windows to initialise the drive.

    Thanks for the prompt reply

    IP address: 192.168.1.197

    Net mask address : 255.255.255.0

    Gateway address : 192.168.1.254

    Primary DNS? : 192.168.1.250

It appears that the 400T uses 192.168.1.250

Sorry if this is a bit vague

I think the BT Home Hub itself is 192.168.1.1 but it does not really matter.

The DHCP Server inside the BT Home Hub offers IP addresses of the form 192.168.1.x and, once the Home Hub sees the Humax asking to connect, the Humax should automatically be given an address 192.168.1.”something”.

    .

The 192.168.1.254 is standard for BT Hubs (other routers typically use 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) and normally the DNS should be the same IP unless you have other equipment supplying the DNS at the .250 address.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately for the 9150T those are the only options.

Of the 2 I would suggest the easier in the long run (less time consuming) is to remove the hard drive and connect to the PC via a cradle or adapter and copy off all the recordings using humaxrw. (from here) The recordings will be playable with VLC or similar.

It is not advised to try copying them back after a format.

A reminder that if using Windows do not allow Windows to initialise the drive.

No current Freeview HD box has the facility to decrypt HD recordings out of the box and a reminder to others that discussion of any method of decryption of those HD recordings is against Forum Rules.

It depends on which model of remote you have.

Some of the OFA remotes have a macro function that will let you assign a sequence of key presses to a single key whereas others functions are fixed.

By any chance does it have a USB socket or pins under the battery cover? Or an LCD screen?

It may be possible to capture the output from the remote when the code changes from a learning remote.

Be aware though that once you have changed the code you will need to program the Harmony remote again if you can find the correct information as the replacement remote is probably locked to the default if the reprogramming sequence does not work on it.

I don’t use a Harmony but perhaps someone who does will have the information you need or perhaps visit the Harmony forums.

Otherwise the Remote Central and JP1 forums are a good source of remote data.

Last time I was in a hotel in London watching BBC Breakfast when it cut to the regional feed BBC London News came on the same HD channel?

That would be a function of the setup of the Hotel’s MATV system fed from their local headend. There is definitely no regional news on BBC One HD on Freeview or cable.

Edit: I may have to check Breakfast as I always have it on SD but all the longer news bulletins are not on HD.

Some of us ONLY have the option to watch regional news in SD. Those in the STATE of LONDON are well catered for though so that’s all right 👿

Sorry to correct you, but as one of those London dwellers we don’t get our BBC local news in HD either :(

We get the same annoying screen telling us to change to SD.

I wonder if there is an info button code programmable into a Harmony or OFA remote in the same way as a discrete on or off code is. I don’t mean use a macro though that would be an alternative.

    Hi Allan

If you check your router you should be able to get a list of attached devices and their IP addresses. If there are no names listed just eliminate the ip addresses of your iMac and any other devices by checking their network settings, and what’s left should be the FVP.

Never mind, now I’ve had time to look it was a short on the Hard Drive board, and for reference the current rating is printed on the board itself.

Anyone have a Seagate ST3500830ACE drive with bad platters but a good board?
