    Thanks for that Les.

I was on call so had to dash off before I had a chance to get the correct link. I’ll amend my post above.

Cheers, will give the manual retune a go…and if ain’t that?

If that doesn’t solve it then turn off the box at the mains for at least 30 seconds then on powering back up do a default reset. (FAQ How Do I Do A Default Reset And What Settings Will It Affect?) Note that will clear your recording schedule and you may need to manually tune again. Hopefully that won’t be necessary.

Don’t know about sound bars but have you got the volume turned up on the HDR? default volume is about 50% and can seem very low.

Standby is the state the box enters when you press the power button on the remote from the ON state and when it has finished saving the EPG to the drive and there are no scheduled recordings due.

What Biggles was trying to ascertain is whether the clock was working correctly as if not it would have shown just 4 dashes in standby and would not wake for the recording. That does not appear to be applicable in your case.

Check you are not receiving any channels from more than one transmitter. You may need to do a manual tune – see this post here(link)

Edit2: Now corrected the link for SD manual tuning.

Edit: oops that link is for the HD models but is basically similar on the 9200t, select your transmitter, note down the channel numbers except the HD mux and autotune and immediadetly stop to clear the channels, then manually tune each mux in turn.

It’s a placeholder for when information is released.

Still does not explain why EPG was not fully populated.

I would guess that you are receiving a block of EPG data from one transmitter and then picking up a similar but not identical block from the other transmitter which then supercedes the initial block. Then another block from the initial transmitter is received and supercedes the second block, so they perpetually cancel each other out apart from the current data set.

    ISTBC

Now need to see whether it is worth spinning my aerial 180 degrees to point at Hannington rather than Crystal Palace so I can get good reception on all mux rather than picking up Hannington coming in via rear of aerial. Probably won’t other as TV can do BBC 1 London news and BBC 1 South news neither which I would ever need to record on Humax.

Now CP is full power your choice is between BBC1 and ITV1 London, or BBC south and Meridian.

hi and welcome to the forum :-)

Do you have the latest version of firmware installed? I believe it is 1.02.27 though this may only be available to download as it’s from the beta site. See this thread software version 1.02.27 available to download (link)

What form do the crashes take? eg locking-up rebooting etc

As you have corruption and need to run in recovery mode I would place it in the root folder or the destination folder for your files on the external drive.

Actually using an external drive and laptop is how I always transfer recordings off my 9200 and although a little slower than to internal storage I find the speed acceptable. The USB is the bottleneck in either case.

For Linux you would need the humaxrw-1.14.tgz file from here (link) and a ‘Live ISO’ you could burn to CD or DVD and boot from or it is possible to use a USB stick to boot from. Once booted you would need to unpack the .tgz archive on a writable drive and follow the instructions contained in the readme file. I haven’t used that method myself so I am only guessing that it is possible. Let us know if you have any success.

BTW a belated welcome to the forum :-)

Don’t use a mac myself, but have a couple of work-arounds you could try.

The first involves you using an external hard drive to which you copy the humaxrw program and then transfer the files off the 9200 using one of your relatives PCs. Run from an administrator command prompt.

Other than that, have you tried using the linux version of humaxrw running from a live CD?

    2. 0844 are not premium rate numbers.

<rant>Whilst they may not be premium rate they do fall outside of inclusive call packages for most service providers, landline and mobile which means they incur a cost which would not have been incurred for a geographic phone number where the recipient does not share part of the revenue from the call.

The company I work for has to pay our voicemail provider for a geographic number in order to keep mobile calls into that voicemail number within inclusive minutes.

look up ‘SayNOto0870’ for alternatives. sorry bout the rant but it’s a pet annoyance.

Had a similar thing on my Samsung TV over the weekend – not sure of the exact time (think it was Sat night as I was setting a wake up timer) but all BBC and ITV/C4 listings for the current programmes were blank but the rest of the epg was populated.

    CP transmitter.

Was working weekend so haven’t checked it since. (use V+ box for normal viewing on this TV).

Hi and welcome to the forum :-)

If you let us know the model number of the remote control you are trying to program maybe someone here familiar with that remote maybe able to help.

Otherwise Remote Central (link) is a good resource for remote enquiries.

Hi and welcome to the forum :-)

Assuming your house is already cabled for coax distribution then see TVLink (link) – you would need the TVLink Plus box in addition to the remote eye.

Otherwise a Video sender is an alternative.

FenderBender – 45 minutes ago  » If you are recording two programmes you will be able to watch a third, but only if that programme is on the same multiplex as either of the recording programmes.

But if the the two recordings are on the same multiplex then the second tuner is available to watch any other channel.

Which is explained in the FAQ item referred to in FB’s post
