You could always change the recording timing so as to allow an additional 10 minutes or so, but that means losing the Accurate Recording facility of accomodating changed program times.
Make sure you are not receiving from more than one transmitter and have no channels in the 800s.
You can of course use ‘Accurate Recording’ and still manually pad one or more individual programmes (in this instance Top Gear) without losing the global setting, but you would have to set the recording as a weekly repeat rather than a series.

ParticipantIt looks as though the aerial grouping for Dover is the same after DSO as before (CD). From your distance and bearing I conclude you are somewhere in the Canterbury area for which an amplified extra high gain aerial is suggested (source wolfbane).
Digital Uk site also predicts variable to poor reception.
Also if signal level is poor it is more susceptible to interference, so it is important to have a high grade fully screened (foil and braid) cable from the aerial.

It’s so long since I have used SCART on my own setup that I had forgotten about using pass-through.
As had I – and I wrote the FAQ for the 9200t Q) How do I connect up a DVD Recorder (DVDR) with the Hummy and TV. 😳
aldaweb
ParticipantThe 9300t does not receive HD broadcasts, it is an SD box that upscales, but you may find the picture just as good via SCART and let the TV upscale. Does it not have 2 scart inputs?
I don’t know about your particular TV but the Samsung I have doesn’t autodetect and switch HDMI either. I have to manually switch between my HDR and V+ box.

ParticipantWelcome to the forum

How are you connecting the 9300t?
If by scart lead then try reversing it – ie plug the end that was in the TV into the 9300t etc. Unscreened scart leads can pick up interference from the output from the TV. Using a fully screened scart would correct that as would using a one directional cable.
If HDMI cable then I’ll leave it for others to suggest a cause.

ParticipantToo trigger happy – forgot I even have a 160GB FAT32 drive 😳
However the cluster size is an issue for large FAT32 drives as each sidecar file would take up at least 32k as opposed to at least 4k on NTFS (up to 2TB) source

ParticipantOne of the Harmony or OFA Xsight ones should do the job but you need an internet connection for full setup.
alternatively a OFA URC-7556 (aka Digital 5) will do most functions
aldaweb
ParticipantIf you only want to play them back on the same HDR then any 2.5in external drive should do but you may need to reformat the drive to ext3 to enable large files to be copied.
Otherwise you can write to any FAT32 drive but these will be limited in capacity to 128GB.
NTFS drives cannot be written to but the HDR will read the files on them.

ParticipantHi and welcome to the forum

Sounds like a failed tuner or I would think more probably the power supply.
Take the lid off (disconnect from the mains first) and check the capacitor tops in the PSU – if they are domed they need replacing.

ParticipantIt sounds as though there is a fault on the motherboard, however is there any source of conductive dust or condensation that could be causing a loop between the data in and out or the 5v in the USB circuit?

ParticipantIf the Project-x yields you mp2 files these can be edited in mp3directcut (with the addition of mpglib.dll) and then saved as mp3, it’s also good for recording.

Another good source of knowledge is Doom9

ParticipantMerry Christmas and Happy New Year from me too.
I see we’re still here

ParticipantIf you dislike the menu screens so much why did you buy a 9300T last month (a unit from over 4 years ago and one which you cannot readily transfer recordings from) instead of one of the current models ie the HDR Fox T2 or the DTR T1000?
You would probably find their menus more to your liking.

ParticipantHi Yaesu and welcome to the forum

As gomezz has said turn up the volume on the HDR to max volume – use the HDR remote and press the PVR button on the HDR remote then turn up the volume – from then on use the TV button on the HDR remote then volume to control sound level.
You are probably not aware that using all capitals in an online forum is considered as ‘shouting’ and also makes it more difficult to read so please bear this in mind for future posts.

ParticipantOK, Moved thread to HDR forum.
For overlapping programmes where both tuners are in use for recording then the padding that would conflict with the overlap is dropped. i.e. programme 1 starts 2 mins early (or whatever the start padding is set at) but ends at the scheduled time, programme 2 starts at the scheduled time but stops at the end of padding.
