A few have reported noisy HDD – others like myself do not have the problem.
Any channels listed in the 800 range, this is an indicator of receiving from more then 1 transmitter.
Tune to each of the following in turn and check details via Settings, Channel Settings, Signal Test:
1
3
16
11
19
101
107
106
Note for each the CH number indicated on the signal test page and compare with suggested transmitter via Digital UK, Coverage Checker (scroll doen tha page for this) – enter postcode, house number and click detailed view.

To answer a couple of points:
1. Less than 1% of units sold are affected by this problem…
My 1000S and 1010S are still working fine, and they are almost certainly older then any others owned by members of this Forum
2. It is not a capacitor problem.
Ha..how many times have we heard that same thing….
Firstly my 1000S mainboard is from 2012, which certainly is an early revision….secondly, if it is not a capacitor problem…what is the problem….certainly Humax are not telling us….thirdly where are the stats that less than 1% are affected.
Do you work for Humax? lol
I do not work for Humax.
Humax may not have released publically what the problem is, and how many units are affected, but have made me aware.
Humax did not brush it under the carpet. They arranged for units to be returned to them for investigation, however it took some time to receive a unit that, on receipt, still exhibited the issue.
Once identified a procedure was put in place as follows:
In warranty units replaced free of charge.
Out of warranty units were initially repaired for a small charge, this has subsequently been replaced with units now being exchanged for a charge of £55.00
Believe me or not, to be honest I don’t really care.
Thread closed as OP has accepted the £55.00 exchange for a 4 year old unit – that I would suggest is exceptional customer service.

Am trying to format USB on 4000t but just keep getting “cannot format” message, have tried with few different USB’s, same result.
What exactly are you trying to format… I suspect a pendrive/usb stick?

You have a very special disc drive Barry … look after it well.
Nothing special about it. Just done exactly the same with an old Seagate Freeagent portable HDD.
Barry
ModeratorHDD’s (WD Passport – portable) formatted NTFS by Win 10 PC work for me, copying both HD and SD recordings.
Have not tried Fat32 but will when I have time.
Barry
ModeratorStrange that you had this problem., I have a FVP 5000T connected to Sony Bravia KDL-32W755B with no issues to date – HDMI CEC is set to off on TV and FVP.
I’ll set HDMI CEC (bravia link) to on and see if I can replicate.

The box did prompt for another retune this evening due to a ‘Network Change’ so I did do another smart retune to be on the safe side.
I am struggling to reconcile that observation with Barry’s comment in post 8 that the box won’t prompt for a retune. It sounds as though in the right circumstances it will prompt?
Poor post by me.
I should have said I have not seen a prompt to date…

ModeratorBump again

Still receiving registration requests with problematic email addresses.
So I’ll stick this to top of Forum for a few Days
Barry
ModeratorThank you for this post…
We (myhumax.org) will also be discontinuing the Tapatalk app.
Barry
ModeratorThe unit will not alert you to changes.
As per previous posts ‘Smart Retune’ is the option to use see FAQ.
Barry
ModeratorDamned if they do Damned if….
A recent update changed this, owners complained that the unit changed channel if reviewing the details of a programme currently on air.
