    Last nights both recorded.

Will proably take a couple of days/attempts before I can draw any conclusions.

Grateful for replies but there is defo no clock just a green and red LED on/off as expected. So can someone say what the two modes Power save and Normal do?

Not a lot: Power consumption in standby is the same, next to nowt, does not even register on my uncalibrated power meter.

As noted by another member probably left over from porting software from HDR to HB (early versions of HB software even had 2 tuners listed in the signal strength/quality menu)

Really interested in this model – loads of art programmes for my wife to record & watch. However, quick question. The initial post references HDDs which are compatible, but any of decent size are powered devices. Argos have – http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1099821.htm – for sale, USB 2.0, but 1TB. Would this be suitable? I am going to order the unit anyway as it seems daft not to, but the sooner I (er, she) can record, the better & I will nip out tomorrow to get the disk if it is OK. I would go for the Humax disk, but at only 160Gb, it seems rather limited. MTIA.

I’ll be trying a WD 1TB portable but not until much later today.

The settop patch is not really part of the custom firmware bundle. It’s a related hack which is of interest if you want to export HD material from the HDR.

Any reference to or help with this patch would of course be contrary to our Forum rules.

I still think you are falling foul of the known consecutive timer problem.

My bad for not explaining properly as it would also affect timers set as one off’s (seperate)

I’ll set the same timers on one of my 9300’s

Have now tested a WD elements 3TB powered HDD, straight out of box, checked properties (see picture) connected to HB 1000S, assigned for recording, and working, post #1 amended.

Properties as taken out of box:

There is a known problem whereby the second of consecutive timers on the same channel can fail under certain circumstances.

In your case as the programmes are scheduled for the same time each day instead of using series record timers you could try scheduling them as weekday repeat timers.

RM-F01 is the model number of a Humax remote control, normally associated with the Foxsat HDR.

If that is the product you refer to then the answer is yes.

Have connected a 2TB WD NTFS formatted drive. Recognised and used within seconds. No problems whatsoever. CS said max was 1TB 😯

They are obviously not up to speed with my tests at post #1 :-)

This might be of little help but:

Have no experience with the TP-Link item you refer to, however, as well as the Humax dongle which obviouosly works I have a Edimax EW-771 UMn dongle and that one also works – Caveat be aware that some users have had problems with Edimax dongles (on T2 products) with win 8 logo on the box.

I have just downloaded from the link I provided without issue. If you still encounter problems then I can send to the email address you registered on forum with if that helps.

You can go straight to 1.00.26.

and if you order it you will receive a HDR T2

Barry in your view and without giving anything confidential away, is it worth waiting for the proper HDR-2000?

That is a hard call to be honest Martin, eg would obviously depend on user preferences hardware wise, and I cannot say to much until it is officially announced.
