For want of a little patience you are going to return a fully featured PVR in exchange for something that has so many standard features normally associated with a PVR missing – padding, manual timers, edit timers, manual tuning 😯

Can you confirm firmware version, reason I ask is the released version is 1.00.07 – 1.02 is likely to be the version of loader.
Cannot say I have witnessed any reboots, have moved multiple recordings to ext HDD without issue whilst unit recording – if no one else reports same I’ll try and replicate later.

1. Ensure you have pressed STB button – if remote has that button
or
2. Remote may have changed code, as witnessed by a couple of us.
Try reprogramming it.
With unit powered on and display on TV…
Press OK and Zero button on remote simultaneously, a message should appear on screen re remote code, if you have not changed it before then press 1 then OK.

Unfortunately the symptoms as described are usually unrecoverable.
Suggest you contact supplier for refund/exchange.

I noticed on all my freetime units there is a slight delay from boot before on demand and showcase are available and get the connection message. I do nothing except wait a few seconds, then they appear.

The current advice is:
1. Try a reboot.
2. Via settings, network connection, with connect automatically highlighted, press OK to renegotiate network connection.
