Participant2. You might be able to do this with the custom firmware but without it you have to wait until the recording has ended before you can watch it on the other box.

ParticipantSounds like a channel rescan is needed…

ParticipantYes, I understand. I am trying to find out if it is the hub that is causing the problem (some USB devices do not get along). Can you connect the third USB drive in isolation to see if it works with the Humax OK.
myhumax
ParticipantHow are you adding the third – via a USB hub?
Does the third work in place of one of the other two?

ParticipantHaving just read in the news about companies bidding to run the local channels, and reading the DMOL link, it seems that there are going to be a lot more channels next year.
So how will my aging PVR-9200T going to cope with the EPG data carousel and caching the EPG on to disk – will it cope? Will any legacy kit going to cope? I’m worrying for nothing right?
Talking of legacy kit, didn’t the Toppy have a major NIT issue at one stage?
myhumax
ParticipantThey do this on purpose so that you’ll miss the programmes you want to record so have to use the catch-up service

Unfortunately, not all programmes is available on iPlayer, itvPlayer, 4OD or Demand5.
Although, if you think about the YouView target market – they probably think their users are still using paper guides, so they might not make the EPG searchable anytime soon…

ParticipantOn a personal note, these are the issues I have in mind:

Does a channel rescan delete your schedules?[/*]

Do all channels reappear (including those you’ve deleted)?[/*]

What happens to your favourite list(s)?[/*]

What happens to recording priorities?[/*]
ParticipantHopefully, everyone is using AVS Video Converter (and supporting MyHumax.Org with a license purchase*) by reading my guides:
Converting your PVR recordings to DVD
Converting Radio recording to MP3
Converting SD recording to AVI
Converting HD recording to MKV
*Purchasing an unlimited license (about £40) allows you to use all the other AVS tools (which includes Video, Audio, Photo, Disc, Document, Anti-spam) too! And don’t forget AVS have their own forums for support!

ParticipantApologies for anyone who has been confused. My wiki page does not show the latest firmware releases – it merely documents what changes have been make with each revision.
It needs updating. So does the page for the FOXSAT-HDR’s firmware. As I seem to be the only one remotely interested in writing and updating the wiki and blog of this site, I have to apologise again for not having time to update the pages.
Any help from anyone who would like to get involve in maintaining these pages would be much appreciated.

ParticipantA very odd box! 1080p only but no surround sound?
If they expect their market to have the latest output device, then they should provide surround. Otherwise allow screen output at other resolutions and not force everyone to update their TV!
myhumax
ParticipantYes, there’s new OTA software to enable the extra Olympic HD streams to be recorded.
You should install raydon’s custom firmware with the v1.00.21 firmware: http://myhumax.org/blog/?page_id=166
EDIT: Barry beat me to it… got to wake up earlier to beat this bird

Hi all,
I have this weekend just set up my DTR-T1000, having sold my HDR T2 to fund it.
I think selling the HDR T2 was a big mistake… Even though the YouView box looks like a HDR T2, it is not the same beast inside!
Also with talktalk I would get a free unit anyway, so I would be better, with a HDR T2, and a talktalk subscrition provided box, and still be finacially better off.
Richard
I don’t think TalkTalk subscribers will get the Humax version of the YouView box. If this is the case, then I dread to think what that box would be like in terms of reliability and quality! (Ignoring the UI and other bits controlled by YouView.)
myhumax
ParticipantI am surprised that this option (V-Format on other Humax boxes) isn’t there for resolution switching…
YouView is a good idea for the people less technically capable of viewing catch-up programmes by other means (e.g. via a PC), so you would expect quite a number of them having legacy/old displays that won’t be able to do 1080p.
If you are forcing viewers to upgrade their TV set, then they are just going to buy a smart TV and return the YouView box!
myhumax
ParticipantWould anyone care to predict how this will affect the Humax Freeview+ PVRs and their recordings behaviour?
myhumax
ParticipantWhich Humax PVR do you have? Tell us and we can help you transfer the recordings off it, and once you’ve achieved this, then this blog post will help: http://myhumax.org/blog/?p=364
